August Favourites!

Hi everyone! You may have noticed I didn’t have a post up on Wednesday last week, the last two weeks have been crazy busy with work and family stuff. I thought I would have a chance to write up my planned post but being away last weekend, it didn’t happen.

Never fear however, my August favourites are here! I managed to pick up a fair few new products over the last 6 weeks or so and I’m looking forward to showing you them.

First up we have the Hourglass Luminous Bronzing Powder, which is the lighter colour of the two. I first saw this one on Racheal Jade (Youtube here, you’ll thank me later!) and thought it looked stunning and not at all like the muddy bronzers I’ve seen in the past. Unfortunately when I went to have this one tested in my local Mecca and the girl just put 1000x too much on until I looked orange. It scared me right out of Mecca and I thought our time together was over… then I picked it up again and tested it lightly on my hand a few weeks later, I decided to just pick it up and go in lightly. Fortunately that worked! I love the light shimmer and colour from this bronzer and it will last me forever I think.

Next up, is the MAC Cosmetics lipstick in Plumful which is my new perfect everyday colour when I want a bit of colour, not just a nude brown or pink. I searched sooo many swatched via blogs and videos before committing to this shade – though who knows why since it quickly became my favourite!

August faves viktor and rolf bon bonViktor & Rolf Bon Bon is a perfume I’ve liked for awhile and unfortunately I thought this mini bottle would be a bow shape as well, but technically it is all about the smell! I find that I don’t use enough of my perfume’s, so I may as well get a smaller bottle and use it. This smell just as good as Flowerbomb and when I run out of this 20ml bottle I’ll be picking up a bigger one for sure.

The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette was another one I thought over for a long time whether to get the Semi-Sweet or original, however I have no regrets over getting the original palette! The quality and pigmentation of this palette is so much better over the Urban Decay Naked Palette’s it’s unbelievable! My favourites shades in this palette are Milk Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Ganache. Overall, I’ve never been disappointed by a Too Faced palette, their shadow quality is fantastic.

A few weeks ago I went to the Estee Lauder Corporate Store and picked up the Clinique Moisture Surge which has improved my skin’s dryness though has increased my acne for the time being. It’s worth the temporary bad skin for less flaky skin though!

I also picked up a small size of the Kate Somerville Daily Nourish Moisturiser which I use everyday before applying my makeup to smooth our my pores and gives my makeup a better finish. I picked up this one after enjoying my sample I received in my Mecca Beauty Loop parcel last.
