December Favourites!

December Favourites // Maddie's Beauty Spot

Welcome to my December Favourites! I’ve tried a lot of new things this month from my spending the last few months, but there are still a few old favourites lurking in today’s favourites.

December Favourites // Maddie's Beauty Spot
Face

To start with, I have the Tarte Blush Palette from Sephora. This palette has five colours, one shimmery and four matte. This palette is one of my favourite things in my makeup collection because it has a wider variety and the blushes from Tarte are super long-lasting and pigmented so you don’t need much product. The packaging is bit of a let down because the sequins fall off but other than that, it is sleek and portable. The blush lasts on me for at least 12 hours, I put it on at 7am and take it off at 7pm after work. My favourite shades from this palette are Fetching and Smashing.

My Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette is a long time favourite, and I love the natural glow it gives me. I use Dim Light and Incandescent Light the most, and it is my main everyday highlighter as it’s more subtle. This palette gives you a great glow all over, I use Dim Light all over my face, and Incandescent Light on my cheekbones, nose etc. I love the packaging and Hourglass have not disappointed me yet! I’ve spent all year discovering more from them I love.

Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer  in 10 Light is a new purchase I picked up in the last Priceline Sale of 40% off after hearing so much about it. I have found that the colour is almost an exact dupe for Nars Concealer in Custard. I plan to do a comparison review soon, so I won’t say too much about it.

Eyes/Brows

Maybelline Hyper Sharp eyeliner is another new buy from Priceline’s sale, and I quite enjoy it, I picked it up as a new eyeliner because I normally use Maybelline’s Master Precise which is a HG for me! Hyper Sharp is designed to be thicker on one side of the brush and thinner when you turn it the other side. I love that it makes for easy Wings on my eyes, however one gripe I have with it is that you have to constantly stop and turn it to get thicker lines. I’ve heard these dry up quickly but I don’t use it very often so I haven’t found this so far.

My last Maybelline purchase is the Brow Satin pencil which has become my new favourite eyebrow tool because it’s very low maintenance. There is a pencil/crayon on one end and a brush with powder on the other end. It took me way too long to work that out ha! Originally I was using the brush side to just blend the pencil in until I realised that. It gives me a really nice defined look for my brows.

Nails

This is my all time favourite nail polish and it’s from Natio. Unfortunately I think the shade “Aura” has been discontinued because when I tried to find another for my sister, I couldn’t find it or a place for it on any stands. Natio is available at Priceline and Myer so far I’ve found. This shade is a beautiful shade of Gold and it’s pretty much the permanent shade on my toe nails. I don’t tend to paint my finger nails at all.

Lips

Lastly, my lips favourite of the month is my Too Faced in “Fig” which I got from the Christmas Collection “Sweet Cheeks and Melted Kisses”. Every time I wear this colour I get compliments, it’s such a lovely plum purple shade! This Christmas set is no longer available at Mecca, however the colour is a regular shade so it is available all year around.

That wraps up the last favourites of the year! I’ll have a Best in Beauty for 2015 post out soon, to show some of my favourites for the year. Do you see any favourites of yours?

That hourglass palette is an absolute favourite of mine. As you said, it is gorgeous for a natural more subtle everyday glow. It’s just too bad that Hourglass is pricey as they have released so many amazing products lately! x

    • I feel like they last so long that it’s worth the price! The only thing of theirs I’m scared about is the eyeshadow palettes as they look like they could blend together so easily!

  • Great favourites!! Fig is such a gorgeous shade and the formula is amazing! The Hyper Sharp liner has overtaken the Master Precise for me now. I haven’t found it to dry up actually and love the tiny point of the brush.

    • I love how everyone is raving about the Hyper Sharp haha, it’s a cult product for a reason! The tiny point is great!

Do you have any Melted shades? Which ones would you recommend? I have Berry, Nude and Peony.

  • I love the Too Faced melted lipstick in Fig too! Such a pretty colour. I’m also a huge fan of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette as you would have seen in my 2015 faves 🙂 The Maybelline Hypersharp is really good as well! I use mine everyday and I don’t find it dries out too quickly! Great post Maddie!

    • That’s good to know! I’m fully stocked up on eyeliner after buying two back ups of Master Precise and this in the sale!
I want to buy more of the Melted shades but I feel like the mini’s are better value since I can’t possibly use all of a full size one haha.
